Introduction
Customs clearance is one of the biggest obstacles for overseas buyers importing Chinese heavy-duty vehicles. Incomplete certification files will lead to port detention, extra fines and delayed delivery. This article sorts out all necessary export documents for trucks and semi-trailers shipped to African markets.
1. Basic Shipping Documents
- Commercial Invoice: Records vehicle model, quantity, unit price and total contract value for customs tax calculation
- Packing List: Detailed weight, dimension and specification of each truck or trailer
- Bill of Lading (B/L): Core shipping certificate for picking up goods at destination port
- Certificate of Origin: Proves products manufactured in China, applicable for preferential tariff policies in many African nations
2. Vehicle Quality & Safety Certifications
- ISO 9001 Quality Management Certificate
- CE Certification for heavy commercial vehicles
- SGS Third-Party Inspection Report: Includes load test, welding quality and vehicle safety inspection
All our dump trucks, tractors and semi-trailers come with complete original certification files before shipment.
3. Additional Local Custom Files (Different by Country)
- ECOCIR Certificate: Mandatory for vehicles imported to Nigeria
- COC Certificate: Required for Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda customs clearance
- Road Worthiness Certificate: For mine and construction vehicles entering South Africa
